Tips For Running Trade Show Booths
Author: Admin20.10.2008
Even though a majority of the work for profitable trade show booths happens before the big day, you can do several things to ensure the exhibition is a positive experience. No matter how grueling the event is, you can’t let it show. After all, the more comfortable and content you are, the better the interactions will be between you and the attendees. Here are some easy tips for surviving the event.
Choose Clothing Wisely
While you will likely need to wear a uniform of some kind, try to make it as comfortable as possible. Wash new clothing to remove irritants from the fabric and dress in a way so you are comfortable regardless of the temperature. A large number of people along with lights and equipment can make a cold hall extremely hot and uncomfortable. Always choose appropriate footwear that will be comfortable throughout the duration of your time in the trade show booths. If you feel that you absolutely need new shoes, purchase them well before the event and break them in. Just be sure to purchase a style that supports your foot properly.
Plan To Keep Your Energy Up
Regardless of how busy trade show booths are, make sure to take a break from your space. You can walk outside for a few minutes or even visit other vendors showing at the event. This will ease your stress level and the exercise will boost your energy level. Maintaining a high level of energy also means you will need to eat sometime during the show.
You shouldn’t eat at the exhibit because it shows a low level of professionalism and can leave a mess. Use one of your breaks to consume food that will up your energy. For a snack, consider energy bars or peanuts with table skirts to make them amazing. Also, make sure you have a travel toothbrush and mints for afterwards. Lastly, don’t forget to keep yourself hydrated. This becomes more important as you get busier because of the sweating you will certainly be doing as the pressure and temperature rises.
Prepare For The Worst
Something always happens to trade show booths or staff members during an exhibition. Make sure you arrive prepared for anything that could happen. For the displays, bring along items such as a banner stands , tape, light bulbs, and a small lint brush for any last minute fixes. For the staff, make sure to bring medications for upset stomachs and headaches, a small first aid kit, eye drops, breath mints, and other items that may be needed during the show. The more prepared you are, the less you will worry and the more you will be able to deal with.
Whether you are in a small town or in the big city of Chicago, Pipe and Drape can be an extremely profitable venture and are great for building your customer base, but there is a lot of hard work involved. The more prepared and comfortable you are, the easier the actual event will be for you and the rest of your staff. Being comfortable and happy is a large part of that battle. The more prepared you are to deal with things, the less likely it is that a situation will interfere with your success.
